INFORMATION:

This 4 days trip from Marrakech to the heart of the Atlas Mountains will allow you to discover the beauty and breathtaking landscapes of the valleys of Ait Bouli, Ait Bougamez and the Ouzoud waterfalls.

Ait Bouguemez or “The Happy Valley” is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Atlas Mountains, thanks to its great cultural and geological diversity, the authenticity of its beautiful Berber villages and the kindness of its locals.

This is a unique trip full of scenery and pleasant views far away from the noise and bustle of Marrakech.

These valleys are a perfect place for short walks, trekking and an excellent spot to hike through indigenous Berber villages and take in their stunning surroundings.

TOUR PLAN:

• Day 1: Marrakech – Imi n’Ifri – Ait Boulli
  Departure from Marrakesh via the road to Imi N’Ifri, where you will enjoy a short walk next to the famous natural bridge of the village which has been classified as a site of biological and ecological interest. Then have lunch in a local restaurant before we continue our drive to the village of Iglouan in Ait Bouli Valley, a small earthen village which you will explore with your guide. Overnight in the guesthouse. 2 hours walking total.
• Day 2: Ait Boulli to Arous village (Happy Valley)
  After breakfast we will walk to the Berber village of Arous via Tafnafant. You will pass through fields of corn, wheat, apple trees, poplars and walnut trees while observing the daily work of the villagers in the fields and small grain mills, then you will enjoy a picnic lunch. We’ll finally be having dinner and spending the night in a guesthouse or camping (your choice) in Arous village. 4 hours walking total. Mules will be available to transport your bags.
• Day 3: Arous to Timit village (the heart of Ait Bougamaz Valley)
  After a traditional Berber breakfast we will head towards Timit village to visit the old granary collective of Sidi Moussa, located on the top of a beautiful hill with an amazing view of the valley of Ait Bougmez’s. Sidi Moussa is a revered saint famous for curing spiritual diseases. The building also serves as a cooperative storage. We’ll continue on foot through a mosaic of fields and then rest under the tall walnut trees, where we will enjoy a lunch prepared by our cook. Overnight in the guesthouse. 4 to 5 hours walking total.
• Day 4: Ait Bougmez – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech
  Back to Marrakech via the road to Azilal. Once we reach the sumptuous valley of Ouzoud, we will stop to see the highest waterfalls in Morocco, nestled in the heart of a beautiful natural site of the Middle Atlas. We will enjoy a short visit to enjoy this stunning valley, then have lunch on the terrace before returning to Marrakech.
